Outfit of Today: Black & Yellow

It was a little difficult getting the lighting right with these contrasting colors but this is the result! As I said before, I love the style of the 50's 60's 70's and I'm so happy many of those trends are coming back. I love the pattern on the top, the baby yellow color & the thick fabric. The leggings have a velvet baroque print <3. Combine with loafers and big ash sunglasses and you're DONE. Love it?

Get the look: all H&M + 1 high end item

I love making an affordable outfit look absolutely expensive. Most times you can do this with just one item. In this case I took all items from H&M, except for the fabulous Marc Jacobs Mia Cat Face Loafers. I really really love these, although they are a little bit silly. The leather skirt obviously will not be very cheap either, but compared to high end brands, this is a good buy. Would you wear this outfit?

Outfit of Today: Patterned Pants

I love the style of the sixties and seventies and HAD to have these pants. Especially since they were only €9,95 :-O. I want to wear them with a crazy vintage sweater or something, but I don't have one :-(. Got to wear my new Loafers from H&M though yayy.

Review: Lush Toothy Tabs

It was a little weird to see these.. Toothy Tabs by Lush. They are bacically toothpaste tablets in different flavors. I tried out the 'Atomic Toothy Tab' with cinnamon and clove.
And.....??? I have to say I like them.. they taste a little funny, but leave a nice fresh taste and breath. I don't know if it's enough to only clean your teeth with these tabs, but they are nice for quick refreshment. Also, the little box they come in is perfect for traveling. It will fit in a small bag perfectly. Go get some.

Review: Calvin Klein 3-in-1 Foundation

After my audition in Amsterdam on wednesday I went to do some window shopping. I was looking at make-up and even though I don't really use foundation (I prefer BB Cream) I wanted to try one from Dior. The girl in the store recommended me another one, because I wanted it to be very light. She cleaned my face and re-did my maquillage with the new Calvin Klein One Colour 3-in-1 face makeup. I didn't buy it right away, because I wanted to see how it looked at the end of the day. I decided I really REALLY liked it and the next day I ordered it online with a giftcard (LUCKY ME!!) that I didn´t spend yet.
So what's the verdict?
I'm very pale and got number 300, Sand. I actually could have gone for a lighter one, but since summer is coming, this is just fine. Best result: a smoothhhhhh face. I really love how soft my skin feels after applying this. It´s a serum, a primer and face make-up (duh) in one. It's also oil free, for a matte look, and has a little bit of SPF in it. Definitely worth the moneyyy.. you can get it at Ulta!

Once upon a time on the movie set..

Aaaand.. ACTION!
Yesterday me and my cousin did some work as 'extras' for a new Dutch tv show about the famous Johan Cruijff. It was such a fun day and I can't wait to do it again. We were up front in every scene lol.. yayyy!! It will air spring 2014, so we'll have to wait for the results.
In the first scene we were dressed in clothes from the 70's, wide flared pants and a jacket with little cherries on it. The second scene took place in the 80's, so I had on a denim jacket with HUGE shoulder pads and these really pointy and ugly ugly shoes.
We had to wait a lot so we ended up taking silly pictures. We got some looks, but oh well..... AND we got to take pictures with the main character, played by Reinout Scholten van Aschat, who also did The Heineken Kidnapping. Coooowlll.

LUSH hair

After my haircut with Rob Peetoom a few days ago, I decided to get some natural hair products. I have a little weekness for the LUSH store and their products, so I decided to take a look in the store.
Of course I would leave with something: Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo and R&B Hair Moisturizer. The shampoo is made with stout beer and is supposed to make your hair shine. I didn't really notice anything, but it does its main job. The Moisturizer is the one I really love. Because I use a lot of heat on my hair daily I really need something to protect the ends of my hair and to feed the rest. This product contains organic avocado butter, oatmeal , olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil, jojoba oil and candelilla wax. I love it, it gives shine and it smells delishhhh!
The shampoo (small size) was $9,95 and the moisturizer was a little more expensive, about $22,95 .. totally worth the money.

Got some goodies from River Island again. Just a simple Cropped T-Shirt that says 'New York City'. I needed that one when I saw it of course haha. AND this Waist Belt with dollar signs, which will be cute with a patterned High-Waist Legging or a maxi-dress. Can't wait to wear this.

Photoshoot!

A while ago I did a photoshoot and I just found my pictures on a Dutch news website called HP/De Tijd. They give young artists (like Inez Correa Alves who styled my shoot) the opportunity to show their work. The shoot that we did was based on Surrealism as you can see in the pictures. In one picture I'm wearing a sugar cube ring and in another I'm wearing a shoe on my head. Cool huh? I personally find both Inez and Eva de Korte, who took the pictures, very talented!!!

SKIN79: toner

I was looking for a 'refreshing spray' for the face and was thinking of buying the Evian Facial Spray, that I used before and liked a lot. Then I found this Rose Mist Toner from SKIN79 at BB Cream Shop, where I also buy my ...... well guess... lol.. BB Cream. SKIN79 is a leading seller of 'real' BB Creams, so I was curious to try out the toner.
I have to say it smells great, the ingredients are mostly natural and overall it's a great product for summer. It is easy to take with you and can be used on top of your make-up. I wouldn't necessarily use it as a 'setting spray', since it's really light, but overall it's a great buy!

Spring Buys

Floral-prints, patterns, color-blocking, detailed collars, lace etc. etc. ... it's all going to be perfect for Spring and Summer! The crazier the better almost. I got this Patterned Blouse and Floral Peplum top (which I will show in an OOTD later) at River Island.

SPRING

I just came from work and ...FINALLY! After a long time of snow and cold, the sun has come out. I immediately feel better. The cold always gets me a little depressed. Time to lose the big woolen coat :-D!

Breakfast

Good morning!
I am getting ready for work and made myself a lovely breakfast. I love make juices lately, so that's what I did this morning too. This is just orange juice with a selery leaf, but I like mixing other fruits & herbs in there as well. Yummm..!

New Shoes

So I got these shoes from H&M and I love them. I had this image in my head of heels that I wanted  'nd when I saw these it reminded me! These are perfect for Spring/Autumn.
They fit perfectly and were not expensive at all.

Found this on a blog somewhere as an example of how to wear them. I also like them combined with a skater skirt.

Fit Girl: still sweating in the gym

Some of you know that, about one year ago, I decided to get fit. I have come a long way from then, but I am nowhere near my goal yet. I have learned that it is very hard to 'sculpt' your body in the gym & even harder to continue sculpting your body throughout the day with a good diet. Not a diet as in Atkins, Cambridge or any of that. I don't believe in those diets. I believe in a LIFESTYLE, which has you picking good foods over bad foods. Greens, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans... we were designed to eat certain things and sticking to those foods will help you become the best you can be. Looking at a piece of cake f.e. and being able to say 'I can have it, but I don't want it' instead of 'I want it, but I can't have it'.
I'm not saying it is easy. It certainly hasn't been easy for me and I am still struggling with this every day. I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world lol. I love all cakes, cookies and muffins....but I love looking and feeling good better. The greatest thing about this is that you can do it too. You will have to take the time to find a good gym, get on an exercise plan, research what to eat and COOK. Many of you 'don't have time' or 'don't like' to cook. Well, I am really very sorry, but if you really want to get fit, you'll have to stop eating c**p that comes out of a package & MAKE TIME to prepare your food. If it's important to you, you'll find a way, if not, you'll find an excuse. If you don't know where to start or you don't know what to or not to eat, I advice you to watch the documentary 'Hungry for Change', leave a comment below and/or follow me on Instagram (@fitkimmy)!
