Queen's Day!

Yayyy.. it's Queen's Day in the Netherlands (birthday of former queen). This means everybody dresses up in Orange and goes out to party... Yayyyyyy... not me :-p. I don't really like it. I mean.. it's fun, but I hate Orange lol. So I just did Tangerine. Sounds way better too.. Tangerine.
To be honest.. I'm not going out at all, because I have to work on my thesis (graduation here I come :-D). So I did this outfit .. but I'm not wearing it out. Good inspiration though ;-). Have to start working now.. talk to you later xoxo

Red Sweater!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. The sun was shining and it was actually hot out. But I had to work :-(... after work I went to see a friend though and so I put on my red sweater (logic: it's going to get colder and I need something warm). My red sweater is so perfect. I'm so happy I found it :-D. I just put it on a legging and walk out the door... so SIMPLE. Forced my friend into making some pictures of course lol.

Housewarming!

My aunt had a small 'housewarming' yesterday, where I went with the 'rest' of my family (5 people in total lol)! She had champagne with fruit and home-made cupcakes... yummm.. of course I had to take some. We ended the night with watching home videos from back in the day, which was so nice.. we were so small and cute hahaha .. not so much now :-p !!!

Workout tips!

It's saturday morning... I really want to go to the gym, but I can't, because I have WAYYY too much stuff to do. So what do you do???.. you workout at home :-)
I have a good tip to make it more easy and make it pay off.
First of all: Nike Training. This is an app that I have on my iPad. It gives you a list of workouts you can do at home. You can choose beginner, intermediate or advanced and they all give you appropriate workouts. Unfortunately, I don't think you can download it with Android, but I'm sure you can find similar apps on there.

Second is Soya Protein!!!!!! Proteins are so important if you want to build muscle and maybe loose a little weight. Soya Protein is especially good for women to use. Mine are from Good 'n Natural (from De Tuinen, a Dutch store). It is a Soya protein with Amino Acids, that make you recover faster and help you build your muscles. When you workout at home, keep taking the Proteins!!

Now get your butt off the couch and start your workout!!

Glossybox vs. Truly Yours

There are a lot of these boxes going around, I don't even really know which ones are out there. In the Netherlands the most popular are Glossybox and Truly Yours. These are boxes that are send around every month (I pay €12,50, which is about 15 dollars) and they have miniature and some fullsize niche products in them. I always want the more expensive and rare beauty products and since I don't have an endless cashflow, this is a good way to try out some of them. I've had the Glossybox for a few months now and the Truly Yours box I ordered for the first time this month. I want to choose one of them (if I can :-p). So which box is more fun?? ....

This is the Glossybox. The brands that are in here are pretty nice. There is a Yves Saint Laurent mascara (2 ml), hand and nailcream from H20 PLUS (15 ml), hairspray from Indola (50 ml), 3 sample sizes of perfume by Robert Piguet (€125 for 100ml :-/) and a full size Essie nailpolish. Although the brands are nice and the sizes are great... I don't know... not so excited :-p.. I only really like the Essie nailpolish and the YSL mascara. I haven't smelled the perfumes yet, but they should be heavenly, concidering the price.

Below is the Truly Yours box, which is MUCH better. MUCH MUCH better, I'm so excited. It has L'Occitane shea butter hand cream (30 ml), Moroccanoil Treatment (25 ml), Thierry Mugler Womanity (5 ml), a fullsize Nablus Olive Soap (100 gr) and my LOVE --> Chestnut Cosmetics Instant Bronzing Lotion FULLSIZE.
Do you see the difference? Much more niche and much more larger and full sizes. Way better.

Truly yours definitely won the first round. Not sure if I'm going to give Glossybox a second chance... we'll see ;-)

My favorite place: the gym (lol)

AND I went to the gym again this morning. I am doing so good lol, this is the 4th time I went this week whoohooo. I did 'bodybalance', which is a mix of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates. After that I did 20 minutes of cardio (hill-walking treadmill workout) and 20 minutes of weights. Those two last things I always do.. the group lessons I join whenever I can. Hopefully I can keep this up, it is HARD work.. don't get me wrong hahah.

Outfit of Today: Cobra!

Finally I have a full body picture... yayyyyy! I went with my mom to her new house and she took the pic (thanks mom <3), but I really need to find a permanent photographer lol. Anyway, I wanted to show you the snake print blouse from Zara in full glory :-p. It is really simple, but I really like it. Today I wore it with black jeans (from Dr. Denim), a belt (stolen from my mom) and sneakers (from H&M). I just came from the gym (3rd time this week!!!) and I'm really tired, so I'm going to chill now. Byebye xoxo

Arrogant dress

I have an arrogant dress... I had an arrogant dress. It only wanted to look good for the photo :-/
When I look at the Nasty Gal online shop I fall in love with a lot of things I see. So a few months ago I decided to order something. I was so exited, because it all looks so nice online. Then I received the package... mmyeahh not so much. The colors look so different in real life and the quality was cr#p :-(. I was really disappointed and send the dress (and the jeans I ordered) back. What kind of experiences do you have with stuff from Nasty Gal?? Maybe I was just unlucky, but I won't order from Nasty Gal any time soon...

Doesn't it look gorgeous?? It is so weird how good the color looks on both pictures, but is just totally boring in real life. Dress with an attitude..

Healthy Green Lunch!

I went to the gym again today.. yayyyyy.. I'm so proud of myself. I'm still able to walk, but that's because I didn't do the body pump yet lol. I will next time I promise. So today, before I went to the gym, I had a very healthy lunch. I kind of improvised, because what I originally wanted to make expired on me... so yeah. This is what I ended up with and it was very good and very green :-)!

I took the skin of the zucchini for the base of my 'salad'. I cooked spinach together with salmon (I used smoked salmon) and a little bit of cream and pesto (just a little bit for the taste and so it isn't dry). This I put on top of the zucchini skin and topped it with avocado. Season as you like (I only used salt and pepper)!
I ate this togehter with applesauce and some beens that I cooked. Very tasty, very green and very healty :-)

Outfit of Today, new blazer, new blouse!

Ooooh how I love this blazer. It is the PERFECT spring color: a mix between pink, red and orange. It is sooooo cute. The blouse has a very subtle snake print. I usually get very bored with prints, so this is just enough. You can basically wear anything with it! Yeah, so happy.. do you like it?? I'm planning on doing a full body picture soon, but I have to find a photographer first lol :-p

Pre-/Post-gym food

I was actually thinking today about the kinds of food I shoud eat before exercising. When I came home after training I saw that Jenifer from honeyedapple.blogspot.com had written a nice article about it. GO READ IT!! What a coincidence!! 'Nd I think I did pretty good too :-D.
I took a picture today of my lunch, half an hour before I went to the gym. I had an ultrathin multigrain cracker (the usual) with salmon, pepper and lemon juice. Also I had a small bowl of high-fiber cereal with milk. After training I drank 250ml of milk mixed with hemp protein powder. Since I am not very hungry now I am going to have a bowl of high-fiber cereal again. I feel fit already ;-)

Sneak Peak

I bought some nice things from Zara and New Look last week, so hopefully I can do some nice OOTD's this week :-). Keep up with the BLOG!

Going to the Gym...

I'm going to the gym again.. oh gosh. I'm a little nervous, because I'm thinking of doing body pump. Uhm yeah... and since I have such big muscles, that's of course gonna be super easy :-/.
At least I have cool PINK sweatpants lol. I bought these last summer in New York at Victoria's Secret (it is in my Dutch shoplog too!), with the excuse that it would make me go to the gym more. Since it has been more than 4 months.. I don't think that excuse really worked hahah. Let's hope I can still walk tonight.

Outfit of Today: 'Laced out!'

Honestly, I don't really like most of the lace shirts that have come out lately. They are usually just like t-shirts with a straight bottom and a flower pattern... very boring. This one, however, I REALLLYYYY like. The bottom is very pretty and the pattern is more classical than just a boring flower pattern... you'll see later ;-). All lace shirts aren't the same lol... find your special one <3
I showed the shorts before, but originally I bought them to wear like this:

Triangle Necklace

So the triangle necklaces are becoming really popular. Two years ago I got one for my birthday from a friend, so I thought I'd take it out of it's box for a change. It is not just a regular triangle necklace. This one is particularly from Turkey and worn for a thousand reasons.... uh.. how did that happen? Well, as I said, it's not just a regular triangle necklace. You can actually open it and put something in it. Turkish people, for example, put Quran texts in there. They believe that these texts will protect them or provide them good luck. Nice huh? If you look closely you can see an Ottoman symbol on there. History and fashion... always go good together ;-)

Brownies!!

I'm making browniessss yumm.. can't wait 'til they are ready!! Although I have some really nice recipes, these just come from a package (yep.. I admit). I don't have much time today, so just whisk the flour, butter and water and throw them in the oven. Share them with your family and friends so you prevent yourself from getting fat lol. xoxo enjoy!

Outfit of Today

Good morning!! So I bought this cute denim jacket yesterday, but I might have to bring it back :-(. Soooo I though I'd just do a nice Outfit of the Day and get a good picture out of it. Did I do a good job??? Hahaha... I really love this jacket... it is simple, but it is also special. Wish I could keep it, but oh well.. can't have it all. Just enjoy the moment and this picture ;-)!

Must see: Intouchables

I just finished watching 'Intouchables' and if you haven't seen it yet you SHOULD!! It is a French movie about two worlds colliding and I just love that. On the one hand there is Philippe, a very rich, but handicapped man. On the other side there is Driss, a guy that just came out of jail and is living on welfare. The two come together in a very special way. It is a deep movie, but also one with a lot of humor that caused me to laugh out loud a lot, although I don't know if the European humor will work for everybody. Anywayssss.. at least watch the trailer ;-)

Outfit of Today

I really really like this outfit, because it is quite safe (oops did I just say that). Safe isn't always bad!!! You can wear it to school, to an interview, to a dinner or just when you are going out to shop some more :-).. and look fabulousss doing it. The colors aren't very funky, but with a little bit of pink lipstick (or whatever bright color you like) and sparkling shoes, we fixed this problem. Also, instead of just leaving my hair down, I pinned it up in a high bun and put a headband on. Safe doesn't have to be boring ;-)

Avocado Two Ways

I am guilty. Yep, I throw away food once in a while, so I decided to try and be more efficient :-p. Sooo, today I made Lunch & Dinner from just one Avocado! That sounds terrible huh, but of course it is not just the one avocado that I used.

For lunch I took two ultra thin multigrain crackers and put a little bit of light margarine on them (as I said before, it has good fats in it so don't leave it out), I covered them with ultra thin chicken breast and put some pieces of avocado on top of it. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and you have a delicious and low fat lunch.

For dinner I chose a salad. Me and salads for dinner didn't work for most of my life, but I'm getting used to it now and I kinda like it too. I used regular Lettuce (actually wanted to use spinach leaves, but they didn't have any). Then I put some Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds and Hemp seeds on top of it and sprinkled them with extra virgin olive oil. I boiled two Eggs for about 6 minutes, leaving the yellow to be a little soft still, and cut them in 4 parts each. Then the Avocadooo yayyy... just put as much on there as you like. Don't throw anything away! You can use a light salad dressing or sesame oil to top it, but I just used salt, pepper olive oil and ate it like that.

'Nd oh yeah.. I had a little organic red wine :-). Bon appetit!

Outfit of Today: 'I got the blues'

Today I'm wearing Blueeeeee.. and not just any blue, my favorite Kobalt Blue. This color looks great on any skin color. I am very pale and so I really have to watch out what kind of colors I wear. Pastels and white colors for example make me look even more pale, but the brighter and more warm colors I can wear easily. Going out for groceries now, talk to you later xoxo

Lazy day: breakfast

Today I am officially doing NOTHING. Okay.. there's some things I still need to do, but for now I am waking up late, eating breakfast in bed and watching Jersey Shore. This breakfast is actually the breakfast I have every day. I'm not very good at waking up, so I just need the same things to be in the same place, so I can make it quickly.

I eat two ultra thin Multigrain Crackers with a little bit of Light Margarine (which has good fats, like omega 3-6 in it) and some Strawberry-Rhubarb Jam. I have a sweet tooth from the moment I wake up, it's terrible.

I drink Organic White Tea from the brand Clipper and sweeten it with Organic Honey. I used to only drink Green Tea, but White Tea actually has more antioxidants in it than Green Tea does and so is better for you yayyy.

Outfit of Today: Pinkkkk

Okay.. I kinda cheated with this outfit, because I wore this a few days ago :-p. I wanted to post it though because it is so cute and PINK. I think this is an ultimate summer outfit that you can just wear out casually, but you could also wear it to a nice dinner (with a blazer) or a party. What do you think?
